The Budget and Finance team is responsible for providing university-wide leadership and broad strategic oversight in the monitoring, management, and control of the approximately $2 billion financial resources of CU Boulder. Budget and Finance is led by the associate vice chancellor for budget and finance and includes the Office of Budget & Fiscal Planning (BFP) and the Campus Controller’s Office (CCO). The AVC works with campus executive leadership and financial managers across the institution to provide strong management reporting, controls, training, and excellent customer service throughout the university.

Launched in 2025: The Financial Stewardship Initiative will prioritize several projects over the next two years, resulting in the adoption and implementation of proven, consistent financial practices that support our campus teaching, research, and student success mission.
