- <p>Tweets sent during last yearâs massive flooding on Coloradoâs Front Range were able to detail the scope of damage to the areaâs infrastructure, according to a study by the University of Colorado Boulder.</p>
<p>The findings can help geotechnical and structural engineers more effectively direct their reconnaissance efforts after future natural disastersâincluding earthquakes, tsunamis and tornadoesâas well as provide them data that might otherwise be lost due to rapid cleanup efforts.</p>
<p><span>The public is invited to attend free, Saturday programs led by University of Colorado Boulder faculty on popular topics as part of the CU on the Weekend series, which begins Sept. 6.</span></p>
<p>With topics ranging from the sweeping stories behind celebrated musical compositions to the micro-level study of bacteria that uniquely forms each personâs microbiome, CU on the Weekend programs are designed to satisfy the communityâs curiosity surrounding some of the intriguing research conducted at CU-Boulder.</p>
<p>The importance of Mars exploration and how the aerospace industry partners with university researchers to advance one of Coloradoâs leading economic sectors will be featured at a free program Monday, Sept. 8, in south Denver.</p>
<p>An international research effort organized by the University of Colorado Boulder conducted the first multiple, unmanned aircraft interception of a telltale rush of cold air preceding a thunderstorm known as a âgust frontâ as it rolled across the Pawnee National Grassland in northeast Colorado on Aug. 14.</p>- <p>New students at the University of Colorado Boulder will be greeted with dozens of activities including a welcome convocation, a Folsom Field pep rally and a âGlobal Jamâ international food and music fest during Week of Welcome beginning Aug. 21.</p>

- <p>New and returning students moving into the University of Colorado Boulder residence halls can choose which day to move in Aug. 18-21, will swipe Buff OneCards instead of filling out a form to check in and will be able to take advantage of âQuick Drop Stations.â </p>
<p>âWe take pride in doing our best to provide a warm welcome and a helping hand for our new and returning students,â said John Fox, associate director of Residence Life. âThis year we decided to make some changes in order to make the process as smooth as possible.â</p>
<p>The Senior Auditors Program provides Colorado residents, ages 55 and older, the opportunity to attend classes on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. Tuition is free and participants pay just an administrative fee to cover registration, application processing and IT support. The program was established in 1973 and is coordinated through the CU-Boulder Alumni Association.</p>
<p>Course availability is dependent upon enrollment limits, with tuition-paying students given priority, and on fire code restrictions, which determine the number of students allowed in a room. Grades are not awarded and auditors do not receive credit toward a degree.</p>- <p>A genetic sleuthing effort led by the University of Colorado Boulder that resulted in the identification of Coloradoâs âtrueâ native greenback cutthroat trout two years ago has come full circle with the stocking of the official state fish into Coloradoâs high country.</p>

<p>Sierra Nevada Corporationâs (SNC) Space Systems is pleased to announce it is expanding its relationship with the University of Colorado Boulder (CU-Boulder) through the signing of a letter of cooperation with CU-Boulderâs BioServe Space Technologies (BioServe). Through the cooperation, SNC and BioServe will jointly explore ways the <em>Dream Chaser</em>Âź Space Utility Vehicle (SUV) can serve as an orbital platform for scientific experiments in microgravity and space life science research.</p>
