<p>The 19th annual Diversity and Inclusion Summit will be held at the University of Colorado Boulder Nov. 13-14, featuring a variety of sessions for students, faculty, staff and community members. All events are free and open to the public.</p>

<p>Families seeking information about childhood psychiatric and developmental disorders are invited to a community open house with experts from the University of Colorado Boulder and the University of Colorado School of Medicine on Wednesday, Nov. 13, on the CU-Boulder campus.</p>
<p>Experts will address emerging research on early onset bipolar disorder, prevention of schizophrenia, postpartum depression, attention and behavior disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. Each researcher also will describe their community services.</p>

<p>University of Colorado Boulder Distinguished Professor James Hynes of the chemistry and biochemistry department has been named a fellow of the American Chemical Society, one of 96 scientists honored in 2013. ACS Fellows are honored for their outstanding contributions in scientific research, education and public service. </p>

<p>Seven University of Colorado Boulder faculty and staff have received Fulbright grants to pursue research, teaching and training abroad during the 2013-14 academic year.</p>
<p>One of their proposed projects involves research in India on the use of the tanbura -- a long-necked stringed instrument -- as an aid for developing musical perception and intonation. Another involves research and lecturing in the United Kingdom on the representation of violence in contemporary Irish and American fiction.</p>

<p>When this year’s iGEM team at the University of Colorado Boulder began meeting early this year, they wanted to take what they knew about biology, and use it to build something entirely new. iGEM, or International Genetically Engineered Machine, is the top synthetic biology competition in the world and after a foundation-building first year, the CU-Boulder team wanted to make an impact in 2013.</p>

<p>Researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder have successfully added a fourth dimension to their printing technology, opening up exciting possibilities for the creation and use of adaptive, composite materials in manufacturing, packaging and biomedical applications.</p>

<p>Experts from global companies such as Facebook, Disney, Activision and major U.S. advertising agencies will be at the University of Colorado Boulder Oct. 24-25 for “Cultural Caffeine,” a series of public panels and events centering on the explosion of innovation in the creative industries.</p>

<p>Since 1930 the University of Colorado Boulder’s best have been recognized at a special awards ceremony dedicated to highlighting their outstanding accomplishments and extraordinary service.</p>

<p>Retired Col. Stephen Dinauer, the former commanding officer of CU-Boulder's Naval ROTC program and now interim director of the Presidents Leadership Class, or PLC, believes that leadership transpires when people understand each other.</p>
<p>“Leadership,” Dinauer said, “is a people business.”</p>

<p>A huge range of activities will be offered during the University of Colorado’s 2013 Back to Boulder Homecoming Weekend Oct. 24-27 for alumni, students, faculty, staff and community members.</p>
