“Still Here” is an experimental reflective documentary that explores fractured environmental intimacy in the digital era through my personal reflections. The project investigates societal passivity to the climate crisis, positioning digital screens as a barrier that dissociates us from our physical environments. The piece utilizes Blender-based animated reconstructions to blur memories of outdoor childhood landscapes, immersing the viewer in the slow experience of nostalgia and dissociation as the piece moves through childhood to the present. Digital rotoscoping and hybrid mixed media animation scenes slowly disrupt this experience to focus on the present and the urgency for haptic engagement with the living physical world outside of a detached and consuming digital scroll. Beyond individual reflection, the project invites viewers into this emotional atmosphere to reflect on their own experience with this divide.
