College of Music Student Government

The College of Music Student Government (CMSG) serves as the voice and connection among students and the academic and administrative communities of the College of Music. As an elected group of students representing our peers, we work to advocate for student needs, strengthen communication across the college, and create opportunities for collaboration and growth. The CMSG exists to make sure every student feels heard, supported and part of a thriving musical community.

What does the CMSG do?

The College of Music Student Government (CMSG) represents the undergraduate student body to faculty and administration, ensuring that student voices are heard and valued in college-wide decisions. We serve as a bridge between students and leadership, reflecting the collective needs and perspectives of our community. CMSG also provides funding to Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) to support professional development. Wanting to apply for funding?�� Additionally, we connect the College of Music to campus-wide��CU Boulder student government��(CUSG) initiatives and plan events that foster connection, collaboration and engagement across the student body.

Projects

Throughout the academic year, CMSG is dedicated to fostering a culture of wellness, connection and care within the College of Music. We recognize that thriving as musicians means supporting the whole person—mind, body and community. In collaboration with the Musicians’ Wellness Program, we’ve continued to offer programs and events that help students build healthy habits, manage stress, and find balance in their musical and personal lives.��

From mindfulness and yoga workshops to nutrition sessions and community drives, our goal is to create spaces that encourage rest, reflection and belonging. CMSG remains committed to advocating for student well-being and ensuring that every member of our community feels supported, connected and empowered to succeed.��

Look for event and meeting dates on the bulletin board near C125 in the practice room hallway. Anyone is welcome to sit in on council meetings!
