Thomson’s research is in cultural anthropology, with a focus on the politics of humanitarian intervention across the borders of Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Her advisor was Carole McGranahan.

Summer 2017 News
Marnie has accepted a position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at 91´ó»ÆѼ and Lee University. Thomson is excited to be at this small liberal arts college for the 2017-2018 academic year.
